We Are Hadza
Synopsis
The Lake Eyasi region of northern Tanzania is homeland to the Hadza, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in the world. Some believe they represent one of humanity's oldest continuous cultures, maintaining a way of life that has endured for tens of thousands of years. We Are Hadza weaves together the voices of Hadza community members—from X'ox'a, a skilled hunter determined to stay in the bush, to Upu-une, a young boy who dreams of discovering the world beyond it. Through their stories, the film offers an intimate portrait of Hadza life as the community confronts an uncertain future.
