Members of The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) are currently attending the Dubai International Film Festival 2013 to have meetings with international film stakeholders to explore partnerships and synergies for the international propagation of the festival. According to the Founder of AFRIFF, Chioma Ude “Our intention is to constantly improve standards for AFRIFF and provide the best services and atmosphere for films and filmmakers at all times. We are delighted to be in Dubai, to meet and continue our international interaction with other festivals”.
According to Masoud Amralla Al Alli, the Artistic Director of Dubai International Film Festival, “I can see similarities between AFRIFF and DIFF. I hope our discussions will lead to synergies and a great partnership”.
Also Joining Chioma Ude in Dubai are AFRIFF team members, Afie Braimoh, Project Director, Keith Shiri, the Artistic Director and Balufu Bakupa Kanyinda, AFRIFF Adivsor and DIFF 2013 Jury member. Keith Shiri had this to say “We are here in Dubai to continue the incredible journey in preparation for the next edition of AFRIFF, inviting film makers to submit their films, meeting and welcoming delegates to participate and contribute in many other events relating to the further development of what has become an exciting new cinema”
The just concluded AFRIFF took place in the majestic Tinapa Resort in Calabar in association with the Cross River State Government and the United Bank of Africa (UBA). With its new home in Tinapa, AFRIFF is going to continue to build on the generous contributions of the its partners to create an international platform for African cinema.
